Family, friends and colleagues mourn passing of local school guidance counselor

SOUTHEASTERN IN — Family, friends, and fellow educators around Southeastern Indiana are mourning the passing of Brad Bryant, who died last Friday at the age of 50 following a year-long bout with brain cancer.

Bryant was a former teacher and coach in the Decatur County Community School Corporation, where he served for 25 years, including five at South Decatur Jr/Sr High School and 20 years at North Decatur Jr/Sr High. He served the past three years as a guidance counselor at South Ripley High School.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to Brad’s family on his passing,” said South Ripley Community Schools Superintendent Rob Moorhead. “He will be deeply missed at South Ripley.”

Brad Bryant leaves behind a wife and three children.
