Extreme Heat Warning in Effect

(Southeastern IN) – An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the area through 8 p.m. Thursday.

Forecasters say dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 105 are expected.

Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

You’re urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms and out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Also, do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.

Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
