Evelyn L. Stevenson, 63, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away on May 3, 2026, at 8:20 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital.
She was born on August 22, 1962, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to James and Kathryn (Souther) Johnson.
Evelyn dedicated her career to working as a teaching assistant, a role she truly loved and found great fulfillment in. She had a passion for bike riding, traveling—especially her cherished annual spring trips to Gatlinburg—and spending time shopping with her sister. Evelyn was also a devoted Sunday School teacher at Alliance Church, where her faith and kindness touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn (Souther) Johnson and James Johnson, and her brothers, Jimmy Johnson and Larry Johnson.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Victoria Stevenson (Jose Valdes), James Stevenson, Ashley Stevenson, Reagan Stevenson, and Lauren Bailey (Bricen); her beloved granddaughter, Hazel; and her siblings, Mary Johnson, Leslie Johnson, and Terry Johnson.
Family and friends will be received at Alliance Church in Aurora, Indiana, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Bright officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill, Indiana.
