Eugene Siegert, 86, of Lawrenceburg passed away at 12:35pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Heritage House in Greensburg. He was born in Cincinnati on June 26, 1935 the son of Raymond and Jean Borgman Siegert. He was married to Jeanne Fatland on September 8, 1988 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Jonathan (Emily) Siegert of Indianapolis and Christopher (Angela) Siegert of Rancho Cordova, California; four daughters Samantha (Todd) Mokros of Lakewood, Ohio, Karen (Rusty) Quintana of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Shari (Robyn M. III) Campbell, and Jennifer (James) Schnabi both of San Clemente, California; grandchildren Sydney Lewis, Natalie Pitcher, Anna-Clara Siegert, Jazlyn Siegert, and Jayden Siegert; one brother Rusty (Donna) Siegert of Lawrenceburg; one sister Kathleen Eckel of Lawrenceburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Siegert was a veteran of the US Navy where he served from 1953 to 1957. For service to his country Eugene was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. In civilian life he worked for 26 years as a California Highway Patrolman and was also a 26 year member of the US Coast Guard. Mr. Siegert was a member of the Lawrenceburg FOP and always enjoyed taking part in the “Shop with a Cop” program at Christmas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14 at 10am at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Graveside services will be held at 11:30am at the Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison with military honors by the Madison American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Madison American Legion in care of the funeral home.
