Eudora Joan (Zimmer) Hilton, age 83 of Dillsboro passed away on January 26, 2024, at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born on October 22, 1940, in Marietta, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Hartline) Zimmer.
She was a graduate of Marietta High School. After completion of high school, she entered the workforce spending a few years working in the office of a local car lot. After moving to the Cincinnati, Ohio area she worked several years doing clerical work for an oil company. Upon chasing her daughter’s dreams the family moved to a horse farm in Dillsboro, In. Eudora became a friendly face working within Ripley County at the Chamber of Commerce, the county highway garage and the park board until her retirement.
In 2009 she married Michael E Hilton where they remained in southern Ripley County. She enjoyed life with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She believed in putting others needs first. She spent hours crocheting, gardening, canning and loved to cook. She was a member of the Osgood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by husband Michael E Hilton, son Brent (Nichole) Henthorn of West Jefferson, Ohio, daughter Rhonda (Larry) Pelfrey of Dillsboro, son in law Joe Cooper of Cincinnati, brother Neil (Nancy) Zimmer, sister Beverly (Paul) Stacy, grandchildren; Justin (Brandy) Cooper, Corey (Alex) Cooper, Rachael Henthorn, Emily Henthorn, Nathaniel (Rebecca) Pelfrey, Kyle Pelfrey, Tyler Pelfrey and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Robin Cooper, and sister Carolyn Becker.
A visitation will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024, from 11am-1pm at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, also at Neal’s.
