Emma R. Kroner

Emma R. Kroner, age 79 of New Alsace, died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at her home. Born July 24, 1942 in Rushville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Anna (Nee: Woods) and Waldo Dwenger Sr. She married William Kroner September 3, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hubbell’s Corner and was a nurse in the O.B. department of Margaret Mary Health for 40 years, retiring in 2012.

Christmas was Emma’s favorite time of the year and had amassed a large collection of Santa Claus’ from family and friends over the years. Other interests included cross stitching and reading romance novels as well as being an exceptional baker. Her family will miss those sinfully good cinnamon rolls she was known for. They also teased that with the ability to stream your favorite television shows, it was a safe bet that on any given visit you’d be watching Columbo or the Golden Girls.

Emma is survived by her sons Bryan Kroner of Dover, Indiana, David and Mike Kroner of New Alsace; brothers Paris Dwenger of Delaware, Indiana, Joe Dwenger of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Debbie Bruns, whom she was very fond of and her dear friend Barb Hornberger. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sister Hazel Dwenger and brother Waldo Dwenger Jr.

Visitation is Monday, December 20th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21st at St. Johns Lutheran Church at Hubbell’s Corner in Sunman with Rev. Margie McDaniels officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
