Emily Mae Lewis, 78, of Connersville passed away Sunday evening, August 28, 2016 at her home.
She was born July 6, 1938, in Buena Vista, Indiana, the daughter of William and Ruth E. Pace McDermott.
On January 29, 1955, she was married in Laurel, IN to Herman Wayne Lewis. Mr. Lewis survives.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, of Brookville. She enjoyed working on crafts and spending time with family and friends..
Survivors besides her husband of 61 years, Wayne Lewis includes four children. Michael (Paula) Lewis, of Connersville, Terri (Trev) Bishop, of Brookville, Sherri Yingst, of Connersville and Jerri (Andrew) Harnishfeger, of Brookville; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She is blessed with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly M. Lewis, who passed away October 3, 2007; her parents; a sister, Lorena Crawley; four brothers, Leo McDermott, Lawrence McDermont , Eugene McDermott, and Joseph McDermott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, September 2, 2016 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Chaplain Jon Hudnall, officiating.
