Ella Rose Schneider

Ella Rose Andres Schneider, 76 years old of St. Leon, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022. A huge sports fan, Ella Rose enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds as well as any basketball games she could find on TV. In fact, she met her soon to be husband, Wilbur Schneider, after watching him play basketball at Sunman High School. Together Ella Rose and Wilbur would plant a garden every year that was big enough to feed the county. After harvesting their produce, they would spend a lot of time canning those items for the rest of the year. Even after Wilbur passed, Ella Rose continued to plant a large garden. A member of the Ladies auxiliary of St. Joseph Legion Post 464, she also volunteered at the St. Leon Volunteer Fire Department and helped them wash dishes. Ella Rose’s favorite treat was strawberry milkshakes. When she would go shopping with her sister, Rosemary, they always had to stop for a treat or if Rosemary was stopping by to see her sister, she knew those strawberry milkshakes would bring a smile to her face. Nothing was more important to Ella Rose than family. She was very close with her sister and brother-in-law and her nephews and great nieces & nephews brought her much joy. She didn’t miss a birthday party or holiday with these important people in her life.

Ella Rose will be deeply missed by her sister, Rosemary (Terry) Powell, nephews Ryan Powell, Mark (Amanda) Powell, and Matt (Kimberly) Powell; sisters and brothers-in-law Albert Schneider, Art (Grace) Schneider, Joe (Barb) Schneider, Rita Struewing, Ruth Messerschmidt, Fran (Irwin) Hartman, Theresa (Pete) Eckerle, Rosie (Richard) Roell, numerous nieces and nephews on the Schneider side; and great nieces and nephews Lydia, Rory, and Lincoln Powell. She is preceded in death by Wilbur, her husband of 39 years; and her parents Viola (Schuman) & Richard Andres.
