Ella N. McKelvey-88 of Westport

Ella N. McKelvey, 88, of Westport, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Aspen Place Health Center. She was born on February 3, 1935, in Decatur County, the daughter of Roy and Lois (Walsman) Koenigkramer. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County. She graduated from New Point High School in 1953. Ella retired for K.B. Specialty Foods in Greensburg for 17 years. She also worked for C.P. Electronics in Columbus for 5 years and for Hilderbrand Industries for 3 years. She was a member of the Westport Baptist Church and the Baker’s Dozen Home Ec. Club. She married Robert W. McKelvey on September 28, 1956, at the Sand Creek Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2012. Survivors include Son in Law; Bill Menefee of Greensburg; her grandson, Bradley Menefee of Hartsville; her granddaughter, Angie Menefee of Greensburg; her 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Roy McKelvey; her daughter, Beverly Menefee; her brothers: Cecil Koenigkramer and Vernon Koenigkramer and her sister, Sandra Haley of Nicholasville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will be at the Westport Cemetery. The time of visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.
