Elizabeth S. “Sue” Niese, age 80 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. Born May 25, 1944, in Savannah, Tennessee, she is the daughter of Claude and Ina (Nee: Ford) White. She married Clifford Niese on June 26, 1971, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Florence, Alabama and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2018. Sue was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Joe) Garbarini of Batesville; sons Kevin (Becky) Niese and Keith (Brande) Niese, all of Batesville; brothers Ray (Patsy) White and Roy White, all of Florence, Alabama and Willy White of Killen, Alabama; sister-in-law Deborah White of Killen, Alabama; grandchildren Drew, Maddie, Connor, Caden, Caroline, Claire, and Lydia; great grandchildren Cash, Corinne, and Violet, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by her brother David White.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 2nd, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3rd, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating. The burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
