Elaine Sue Bildner, 89 of Lawrenceburg, Indiana passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026.
Elaine was born on November 9, 1936 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Otto and Naomi Thelma (Schinaman) Zinser.
Elaine was a dedicated owner and operator of DJR Bildner & Sons Bakery where she worked alongside her family for more than 13 years. She took great pride in serving her community and treasured time spent working with those she loved.
Elaine had a deep love for sports, especially Indiana University basketball. She never missed a game, and if there was a football or basketball game on television, you could count on her to be watching and cheering from home. She also enjoyed watching classic westerns when a ball game was not on. Above all, Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Loyal to those she loved, she was always there when someone needed her. Her firecracker personality and quick wit drew people to her and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever be held in the hearts of her family and friends.
Elaine is lovingly remembered by her sons, Douglas Bildner and Ron (Ann) Bildner; her grandchildren, Kristy (Jeff) Bayer, Derrick (Jamie) Bildner, Brandy Bildner and Leigh (Jose) Gonzalez; and her great grandchildren, Taylor, Kyla, Gabriella, Brayden, Daxton and Layken.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Thelma Zinser; her beloved husband of 65 years, John Bildner, her sister Wanda Butler; and her brother, Otto Zinser.
Family and friends are invited on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00p.m. Burial will take place afterward at River View Cemetery in Aurora.
