Effort to end Indiana concealed carry permits revived

STATEHOUSE — State lawmakers have revived a plan to do away with concealed carry licenses in Indiana.

A conference committee at the Statehouse on Wednesday brought back legislation that the Senate tried to gut last week.

Straight up-or-down votes could take place next week if enough lawmakers agree.

Supporters say legal gun owners should be trusted to do the right thing.

Indiana law enforcement groups have come out against the idea of allowing people to carry a gun without a state permit.
