(Franklin County, IN) – The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down at Hickory Woods Campground on State Road 101 northeast of Brookville Tuesday night.
An EF-1 tornado has wind speeds of 86 to 110 mph, according to the Enhanced Fujita (EF) Scale.
A number of campers and boats were overturned with large trees also down.
Forecasters say their damage survey around the campground is ongoing.
There were no injuries reported.
Meanwhile, INDOT Southeast’s equipment building on State Road 101 north of Brookville was destroyed by Tuesday night’s tornado (pictured).
The agency says no one was in the structure when the twister rumbled through the area.
