Edie Ernstes, 68

Edith R. “Edie” Ernstes, 68, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Indiana Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born, April 4, 1950 in Batesville, Indiana, she was the daughter of Leo G. and Ruth C. (Zins) Amberger.  Edie was a 1968 graduate of Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenburg.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg. She was married to John H. Ernstes on July 1, 1972 and he survives. She is also survived by four children, Jenni (Brad) Hanna, Greensburg, Erik (Dawn) Ernstes, Greensburg, Matthew (Abbe) Ernstes, Camby, Deanna (Mike) Swango, Greensburg; ten siblings, John Amberger, Bill Amberger, Rosemary Gander, Albert Amberger, Steve Amberger, Dave Amberger, Millie Blanken, Dee Linkel, Mags Thielking, Ann Gutzwiller; six grandchildren, Kennedy Hanna, Brenner Hanna, Landon Swango, Kiley Swango, Kyra Ernstes, Luke Ernstes. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Dick Amberger, Alma Amberger. A public funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund, the Oldenburg Academy, or the American Cancer Society.
