In early June, we don’t usually talk about basketball, but this is a big time for members of the East Central Girls Basketball program. You might recall senior Hope Fox, junior Josie Trabel and coach Kevin Moore will all named to the Indiana All-Star teams.
The junior all-stars from Indiana and Kentucky recently hooked up at Bedford North Lawrence, and the Hoosier ladies held off the Bluegrass gals 92-89. Kentucky outscored Indiana by 18 in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough.
Trabel, the Lady Trojans first-ever junior all-star, made a nice contribution off the bench with four points, three rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and one steal.
RaShunda Jones of South Bend Washington led the Indiana Juniors with 20 points. Columbus East’s Saige Stahl and Forest Park’s Amber Tretter both scored 13. Karson Norman of BNL netted 12 while Noblesville’s Ashlyn Shade was a point shy of a double double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
