Greenwood, In. — The East Central Nursery/Landscape teams recently compete in the Indiana FFA State Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event at the Central 9 Career Center in Greenwood.
The contestants had to complete a general knowledge exam, plant, pest, and equipment identification, landscape estimating practicum, plant propagation practicum, and a team activity.
The team of Alicia Rosemeyer, Alex Dudley, Rachel Kraus and Amelia Hartman won first overall and the state title. The team of Austin Schneider, Grant Wright, Travis Foote and Anna Loschiavo placed third. The team of Alex Newport, Keegan Riesenbeck, Grace Kraus and Erica Kathman placed fourth. The team of Gage Crone, Faith Fox, Ryann Griffin, and Jared Callahan placed 6th. This is East Central’s 6th state win in this event (2007, 2008, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019).
The winning team will represent Indiana at the National FFA Convention on October 30-31 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
