East Central boys soccer won Saturday’s Cougar Cup at Greenfield Central. The title march started with a 3-1 overtime win against Franklin Central. Goals were scored by Riley Smith and two from Chase Metz. Assists were recorded by JT Roden, Joey Black and Sam Mcfee.
EC then beat Floyd Central in a penalty kick shootout. Both teams scored one goal in the second half. Neither team scored in 14 minutes of overtime, then the Trojans outscored the Highlanders 4-3 in PKs. (Scoring details were not available from the final).
