Sunman, In. — The East Central FFA Chapter had 19 members that competed in the Indiana 4-H/FFA State Horticulture Career Development Event at Purdue University.
Thirty-six teams had to use their knowledge to identify ornamentals, indoor plants, fruits, and vegetables. They also had to complete a general knowledge exam and a plant grading exercise.
East Central’s top team placed 5th. The team consisted of Heath Doll, Maria Hartman, Rachel Kraus, and Grace Krause. East Central’s second team placed 8th this team consisted of Amelia Hartman, Travis Foote, Erica Kathman, and Anna Loschiavo. East Central’s third team placed 10th. This team consisted of William Sauer, Bella Woodyard, Adrien King, and Jacob Robbins. Joseph Miller competed as an individual.
