East Central FFA competes in regional wildlife competition

ST. LEON, IN — Fifteen East Central FFA members competed in the Indiana 4-H/FFA Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Career Development Event at the Southeast Purdue Ag Center in Butlerville last Saturday, April 9.

Students participated in a Wildlife Challenge where they identified 25 wildlife specimens and completed a general knowledge exam.

The students also completed a wildlife management practicum where they examined an actual piece of property and suggested improvement practices for the area to attract certain species of wildlife.

The team of  Bradley Kolb, Evan Kuhn, James Bulach, and Brayden McDaniel (pictured, from left to right) placed 2nd and has advanced to the state competition at Purdue University on Saturday, May 21.

The team of Hadrian Emley, Lewis Darringer, Emma Reatherford, and Adrien King placed 3rd.

The team of Julie Rider, Isabelle Leurck, Marissa Gabbard, and Ayden Stutz placed 6th.

The team of Jasmin Keith, Mack Eckstein and Bryson Dossenback placed 7th.
