Earl H. Bossert, age 77, of Brookville, Indiana died Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana following a brief illness.
Born November 20, 1948, in Oxford, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herbert & Elsie (Smith) Bossert. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam, having served aboard the USS Kansas City.
On February 8, 1975 he and the former Stella L. Brack were united in marriage, and she preceded him in death on December 20, 2003.
After more than 27 years at Delta Steel, Earl retired. He also worked for several years at Kopp Turkey Farm and Franklin County Park in Brookville. He was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Brookville.
Survivors include one son, Duane M. Thalheimer of Brookville; three grandchildren, Jamie Thalheimer, Mason (Brenna) Bossert, Bricen (Kari) Hill; seven great-grandchildren, Levi Bossert, Thomas Bossert, Ellie Bossert, Hudson Bossert, Josephine Hill, Kayce Hill, Luke Hill.
In addition to his wife, Stella, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Earl H. Bossert Jr. who died August 20, 1999.

Pastor David Smith will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 28, 2026 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, burial with full military graveside honors by the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
