Dustin James “Dusty” Schuman

Dustin James “Dusty” Schuman, 32, of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Friday June 5, 2020 in Sunman, Indiana.

He was born April 29, 1988 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Steve Schuman and Tina (Holler) Schuman.

Dusty worked as a Lighting Technician for ECO Engineering.

Dusty was an avid deer and turkey hunter, and he loved to bow fish. He was a major ATV sport rider, and he just loved to be outdoors. He also enjoyed building guns. He loved his dogs, Karma and Blue. Dusty adored his little girl, Aubrey, his fiancé, Cailey, and the rest of his family, and friends. Dusty was very close to his many aunts, uncles and cousins and he will be missed dearly by all.

Dustin is survived by his dad, Steve (Donna) Schuman of Sunman, Indiana, mom, Tina Schuman (Scott Bell) of Louisville, KY; fiancé, Cailey Lee of Sunman, IN; daughter, Aubrey and a baby boy, Everett James, on the way; siblings, Deana (Casey) Botkin of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Jennifer) Hartman of Independence, KY, Donovan (Brandi) Hartman of Milan, IN, Kaitlyn Schuman of Sunman, IN, Jenna Schuman of Sunman, IN; maternal-grandparents, Ruby (Charles) Hopping of Milan, IN, Fred (Bev) Holler of Holton, IN; paternal-grandparents, Walter and Mary Schuman of St. Leon, IN; several, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 4-5 pm at the All Saints Parish (St. Joseph), 7536 Church Lane, Saint Leon, IN. 47060. A public visitation will follow at the church from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray expenses. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.

Due to the current situation dealing with COVID-19, we are following the directives from Governor Holcomb and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning large events and mass gatherings. The family deeply appreciates the support and love shown from friends, but the health and well being of everyone in our community is of top priority. We are asking everyone who will be in attendance to please remember the social distancing guidelines at all times, and the wearing of masks is recommended.
