(Franklin County, IN) – Alex Dudley has announced his plans to run for the Republican nomination for Franklin County Circuit Judge in 2024.

Dudley is running for the post currently held by Judge Steven Cox.

He said in a statement that for the first time in 18 years, Franklin County Republicans will have a choice who they nominate for Circuit Court Judge.

“Like many of you, I see the growing epidemic of drugs and crime that is threatening our way of life and peace of mind here in Franklin County. The increased severity of violent crimes, including shootings that target our local law enforcement, is unacceptable. I share in your worries about what kind of world we are going to leave our children and grandchildren,” Dudley said.

“I am running for judge because I know these issues will not be solved without positive change. That change requires common sense solutions and hard work — each and every day of a judge’s term,” he added. “That change requires a unifying effort by our courts, law enforcement, and community. That change requires a leader who is willing to work diligently for many years to come. As a young husband and lawyer with an established legal career, I am ready and willing to help make that change. As your judge, I will be committed to working hard every day to shape a safer future for our families and our county.”

Dudley was the 2011 Franklin County Lilly Endowment Scholarship Recipient.

He received his undergraduate degree from Butler University, majoring in elementary education and minoring in special education. Dudley received his law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Dudley lives in Batesville with his wife Ella.
