(Lawrenceburg, IN) – A Sprint Car driver from Harrison, Ohio died from injuries suffered in a crash Saturday night during the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
26-year-old Justin Owen’s car hit the outside wall on the track’s third turn and flipped several times during a qualifying run.
The remainder of the event was canceled following the deadly incident.
Owen was the reigning track champion at Lawrenceburg Speedway, scoring two feature wins and the title in 2022.
He also had several other victories during his racing career.
USAC and several others expressed their condolences to Owen’s family, friends, and team.
