Douglas Frazier Steidel, age 43, from Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital. Doug and his twin brother Danny were born on December 24, 1980, in Danville, Illinois to David and Rebecca (Williams) Steidel.
Doug graduated from Hobe Sound Christian Academy, Hobe Sound, Florida, in 1999. Doug married Alicia Christine Northrup on April 19, 2008, and they were blessed with three children: Cameran, Brianne, and Gage. Doug framed houses with an Amish work crew from Milroy, he worked at Hitachi Powdered Metals in Greensburg, and he was the owner-operator of Steidel Tree Service in Port St. Lucie at the time of his death.
Doug’s primary interests were following Jesus, loving his family, hunting, and fishing. Doug and his family are active members of New Hope Fellowship Church, and Doug was one of the founding members of a men’s ministry called Transformed.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Steidel, and his father-in-law Barry Swaim. He is survived by his wife Alicia, his children: Cameran, Brianne, and Gage, his father David (Laura) Steidel of Louisville, his brothers, David R. “Robbie” Steidel of Rossville, Illinois, Danny E. Steidel of Hobe Sound, Florida, Donald R. (Karen) Steidel of Greensburg, and Devon M. (Erika) Steidel of Westport.
A memorial service for Doug will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bible Wesleyan Church, 1333 Dahl Road, Louisville, Kentucky with Rev. Jerran Jackson officiating. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com
