Doris Mae Huber, 86, of Connersville, passed away Monday evening, June 27, 2016 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home where she had been a resident since May 1, 2014.
She was born August 1, 1929 in Morris, Indiana, one of three daughters of Harry and Leora Bartling Volz and was a graduate of Batesville High School.
On May 9, 1953, she was married in St. Anthony Church in Morris, IN to Kenneth E. Huber of St. Peters, IN and they came to Connersville for residence in 1955. Mr. Huber passed away October 6, 2010.
A faithful member of St. Gabriel Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and the St. Gabriel Bereavement Committee. She was also a life-member of the AMVETS, a life-member of DAV and a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and doing needle work projects.
Survivors include a son, Michael Huber and wife, Kathy, of Connersville; two grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Huber, both of Connersville; a sister, Pat Chaffee, of Morris, IN; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside her husband of 57 years, Kenneth, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathon Michael Huber; her parents and a sister, Virginia Niehaus. She is also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Albert Niehaus and Richard Chafee.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM, Friday, July 1, 2016 in St. Gabriel Church with Reverend Dustin Boehm officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM on Friday at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 10:15 AM that morning.
