Doris M. Cook, 98

Doris M. Cook, 98, of Greensburg passed away on November 29, 2020. She was born on September 21, 1922 in Walton, Indiana the daughter of Millard and Pearl (Walker) Fitzer. Doris was a 1940 graduate of Walton High School. She married F. Gail Cook in December 18, 1941 and together they had three children: Dennis, who died in infancy, Karen and Jane. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts as well as the daily puzzles in the newspaper. She found her greatest joy in her family and could always be found at her grandchildren’s events. She was a member of First Christian Church of Greensburg and the Greensburg Senior Citizens.

Survivors include: Daughters, Karen Matlock and Jane Morton; Grandchildren, Susan (Anthony) McAhren, Melissa (James) Calvin, Bill (Megan) Morton, and Ryan (Julie) Morton; Great Grandchildren, Hannah Calvin, Emily Calvin, Parker Morton, Chase Morton, Sage Morton, Archer Morton, Quinn Morton, Molly Morton, Teddy Morton, and Melissa Lower; Great Great Grandchildren, Shea Worley and Kaden Worley. Doris was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Infant Son, Dennis Ray Cook; Son in Law, Robert Morton; Siblings, Donald Fitzer, Victor Fitzer, Evelyn Kaufman, and Jean Baber.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral at 11:00 am. All guests will be required to wear masks and follow CDC guidelines. Rev. Ray Sweet will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery.
