Doris C. (Wiley) Bonfer, 94, of Milan passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at Ripley Crossing. Doris was born on Saturday, February 8, 1930, in Berne, Indiana; daughter of Paul and Florence (Oak) Wiley. Doris married the love of her life, DuWane Bonfer, on February 23, 1952, and preceded her in death on July 2, 2006. Doris was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked as a bookkeeper at Railroad Inn and McKittrick Construction. She also worked at State Bank of Milan and owned Bonfer Furniture and Hardware with her husband. Doris enjoyed knitting, playing piano, and traveling with her husband.
Doris will be missed by her son Kevin Bonfer of St. Petersburg, Florida and daughter Debra Bonfer of Cincinnati.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband DuWane Bonfer and brother Garrett Wiley.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Doris from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church; 7124 IN-101, Milan, IN 47031. Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Doris to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
