(Drewersburg, IN) – The Drewersburg Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) in eastern Franklin County is the recipient of a $2,500 Channeling for Good donation that will be used to purchase Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) tanks and quick connect adapters.
Channeling for Good is an initiative of Channel Pro Seeds, agricultural advisers for the Channel Seed brand backed by Bayer Crop Science.
Local Channel Seed Pro Todd Frondorf directed the donation to DVFD.
The Channeling for Good donation will help our department provide necessary safety equipment for our firefighters and provide essential fire protection to the residents of our community,” said Drewersburg assistant fire chief Stuart Wendel. “We appreciate Channel recognizing our rural community.”
Since 2021, Channeling for Good has been dedicated to giving back to organizations that enhance farmers’ lives and strengthen rural communities.
The initiative first started as a way to serve the communities of Mt. Vernon and Lisbon, Iowa, which were affected by devastating derecho storms in 2020.
After seeing the impact of serving those communities, the Channel brand decided to expand the initiative to local communities across rural America.
Channel has given $175,000 to organizations across rural America so far this year.
In March, Channel Seed Pros nominated local nonprofits in their area for a chance to receive a Channeling for Good donation.
Channel Seed Pros across the country have directed donations to youth agriculture programs, emergency response organizations, schools, food banks, and other organizations dedicated to the success and preservation of rural America.
