Donald G. Black, 89 of Dillsboro passed away at his home Wednesday November 29, 2017 surrounded by his family. Don was born Sunday August 19, 1928 in Ohio County the son of Willis and Grace (Jackson) Black. He graduated with the 1946 Class of Dillsboro High School. He married Marian L. (Rump) Black May 21, 1948 and she survives. He worked for 25 years as a Standard Oil distributor and later worked 25 years as a realtor for Stacy Real Estate. Don was a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge F&AM. He enjoyed fishing, was a Reds fan and enjoyed his family time.
Don is survived by wife Marian, sons Steve (Chris Gilmour) of Dillsboro; and Terry (Sheila) Black of Rising Sun; daughters Linda (Jerry) Stanley and Leann (Ted) Nail both of Dillsboro; sister-in-law Marilyn Eades (Rasheed Ali) of Yuma Arizona; 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Saturday December 2, at the Dillsboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Debbie Beason officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro. Visitation will also be at the church 10-12noon on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the church, Dillsboro Life Squad or the Hospice of South Central Indiana.
