Don F. Luers

Donald Fred Luers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 surrounded by his family.  The son of John and Gladys (Becker) Luers was 88 years old, born on May 6, 1933 in Batesville.

The 1951 Napoleon High School graduate married Rosemary Amberger in 1962. They were married over 54 years before she passed away in 2016. Don was a member of Adams Lutheran Church and spent his working career with the Batesville Casket Company before retiring in 1993.

Don enjoyed watching his Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals sports teams. He enjoyed getting outside gardening tending to plants and the yard over the years. Don dearly loved his pets and watching all birds outside come and go. He was an unselfish man, always there to help someone out in need.

He will be truly missed by his children; Dennis Luers of Greenwood, IN, Randy (Debbie) Luers of Batesville and Sandy (Albert) Meyer of Batesville; grandchildren, Ben Meyer, Emily Meyer, Kyle Luers, Stacy Siefert and Keith Luers; great grandchildren, Konnor Luers, Josie Manis, Madelyn Luers, Henry Siefert, William Luers and one great granddaughter due in April; along with his brother, Tom (Jan) Luers, Charles (Carol) Luers and Dorothy Norfleet.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Luers and sister, Marjorie Haas.

Don’s wishes were to be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later date.
