LAWRENCEBURG, IN — Diane Young, who has enjoyed a 30-year career in the mental health field, recently joined the staff of Community Mental Health Center, Inc., as Chief Clinical Officer.
Ms. Young, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri and a Master’s in Social Work from the St. Louis University School of Social Service, most recently was interim executive director of Holly Hill Child and Family Solutions, an agency that provides behavioral health services and residential treatment in Northern Kentucky.
She has held positions ranging from case manager to therapist to chief services officer during her career.
As Chief Clinical Officer, Ms. Young is responsible for the administration and oversight of services provided by the agency’s clinical divisions, which are Addiction Services, Community Support Services, Inpatient Services, Intensive Family Services, and Outpatient Services. The Chief Clinical Officer works closely with clinical division directors to accomplish this. The Chief Clinical Officer also plays an important role in the development and annual review of the CMHC services plan, development of clinical policies, and strategic planning.
“As the daughter of two social workers, I was taught the importance of serving the community from a young age,” said Ms. Young. “I was attracted to the work of CMHC because of its mission, and in my short time here, I have been extremely impressed by the staff’s dedication to the people we serve, as well as their connection to and care for the community.”
Ms. Young is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana and Kentucky and a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory Designation in Ohio. She previously has been a program surveyor for CARF, an agency that accredits health and human services providers throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
In her free time, Ms. Young enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. She is an avid runner and also enjoys hiking, kayaking, and gardening.
CMHC uses a network of facilities in Batesville, Brookville, Lawrenceburg, St. Leon, and Vevay to provide services in the region. The Center offers an array of services, including outpatient counseling, substance use disorder services, inpatient hospitalization, community, and school-based services, integrated primary and behavioral health care, employment services, and housing services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses. CMHC employs professional staff, from case managers to psychiatrists, to provide these services.
