Dennis Lee Samson, age 77, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on August 30, 1947, the son of Emil and Mildred (Everhart) Samson in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A 1965 graduate of Western Hills High School, Dennis proudly served his country in the 4th Armored Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He married the late Patricia Lee Baron on October 14, 1967, in Newport, Kentucky, and was a retired Lieutenant with the Cincinnati Fire Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post #199 in Harrison, Ohio and of Amvets Post #13 in West Harrison, Indiana.
Dennis is survived by his son Greggory Samson, three grandchildren, Amanda Egner, Tony (Stacey) Tinker, Jr., Melissa (Ryan) Slabaugh, and his five great-grandchildren, Zophie, Findlay, Magnolia, Anastasia, and Vincent. He is also survived by his sister Linda Lee (Dale) Bowman, nephew, Dale Bowman, Jr., and Joyce Yocom, Dennis’ partner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mildred Samson, his loving wife, Patricia Samson, daughter, Shari Tinker Whitaker, and son Tony Tinker.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030 followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
