Dennis L. Cochran

           Dennis Lane Cochran, age 66, of Dillsboro, Indiana departed this life Monday, December 2, 2019 at the home of his brother in Dillsboro, Indiana.  He was born Thursday, July 16, 1953 at New Castle, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Martha (Cowin) Cochran.  He married Sandra Johnson December 24, 1975 and she survives.  Dennis was a former member of Green Chapel Church.  Dennis served his country in the Marine Corp from 1972 to 1978, where he met his wife Sandy.  He owned and ran a restaurant for 17 years in Dillsboro.  Dennis loved to hunt and enjoyed watching wildlife out his living room window.  He loved to build things and greatly enjoyed time spent playing with his grandchildren, who adored him.

Dennis is survived by his wife Sandra (Johnson) Cochran of Dillsboro; his mother Martha (Cowin) Wilson of Ocala, FL; sons: Jeremy (wife Ann) of Dillsboro, Adam of Dillsboro and Ben (wife Abigail) of Hartshorn, MO; brothers: Mike of OH, Larry (Marty) of Dillsboro, Tim (Debbie) of KY, Scott of FL, Kelly of FL, Troy (Valerie) of FL, Craig of IN, Gale of IN and Donnie of IN; sisters: Debbie (Gary) Wilson of ME, Sheryl (Daniel) Hatfield of FL, Kim (Tony) Burton of IN and Gay of IN; eight grandchildren: Lane, Dakota, Seddona, Chloe, Jesse, Shawn, Mylah and Carson; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth and stepmother Becky Cochran.

A service celebrating his life will be held 11 AM Friday, December 6 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Brother Mike Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, with full military rites provided by Northcutt Laaker Post #292 of Dillsboro.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 10 – 11 AM Friday also at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given in honor of Dennis to the donor’s choice.  Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, 12887 Lenover Street, Box 146, Dillsboro, IN 47018, (812)432-5480.  You may go to www.filterdevriesmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
