Delores Jean Bauer

Deloris Jean Fox Bauer, 95, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, July 26, 2021.

Jean was born January 17, 1926, in Aurora, IN, daughter of the late Dr. George Michael Fox and Luella (Ruehl) Fox.

Growing up as a Veterinarian’s daughter, she was always surrounded with animals which continued throughout her life. She was active in athletic endeavors most of her life and was an avid reader. Her passions included, golf, spending time with friends and family, travel, antique collecting and the arts.

Jean graduated from Indiana University in 1948 with a degree in Sociology. She was employed as a Social Worker with the Dearborn County Welfare Department and later as a Child Services Officer with the South Dearborn School System until retirement.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora, Aurora Phi Beta Psi, and the Dearborn Country Club. She was on the Aurora Library Board which led the planning of the library expansion in 1998.

Deloris is survived by her daughter, Sarah “Sally” Ann Bauer of Cincinnati, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Francis Bauer; brothers, George Fox, Dr. Murl Fox and niece Ann Reynolds Fox Knopp.

Friends will be received at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Fourth Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Memorial Services will follow at 11AM on September 9 with Pastor Dawne Sarchet officiating.

Interment will be in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
