Delores Allen, age 83 formally West Harrison, Indiana passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany, Indiana. Born October 30, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Burnum and Pearl (Short) Stamper.
Delores lived in Mt. Adams growing up, then lived in Harrison, Ohio and West Harrison, Indiana (Franklin County) for most of her life. Graduated from Woodward High School in 1953. Married J.M. (John Marion) Allen December 25, 1953 in Loveland, Ohio. Her last residence was in Autumn Woods Heath Campus, New Albany, Indiana, where she was just a few minutes away from her son Dave, and his wife, Kim. Delores loved to bowl, being a good mother and grandmother and working on the farm.
She is survived by her loving children Linda (Dennis) Steelman of West Harrison, Indiana, David (Kim) Allen of New Albany, Indiana and Daniel (Bridget) Allen of West Chester, Ohio. Grandmother of Aaron (Rebecca) Steelman, Devon Steelman, Morgan Allen, Benjamin Allen and Joshua Allen. Great grandmother of Conrad and Henrik Steelman. Dear sister of Barbara Jean Meadows of Columbus, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her parents Burnum and Pearl Stamper and husband J.M. Allen.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Shawn Crisman officiating all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home 215 Broadway Street Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio.
