Decatur County Schools adjusts COVID Return to Learn Plan

DECATUR COUNTY, IN — Decatur County Community Schools has made some adjustments to its COVID Return to Learn Plan, due to the high number of students and staff who have been subjected to contact tracing guidelines.

  • Masks are required but parents and guardians may sign a waiver to opt their student out of wearing a mask if the parent or guardian feels it’s appropriate or safe for their student.
  • Contact tracing with quarantine is now defined as anything less than three feet. For those exposed to a positive student within three to six feet, the parent/guardian will be notified, and the adult will decide whether or not the student stays home or goes to school.
  • And quarantining will be a total of 10 days.

The new rules take effect today (September 1).
