(Greensburg, IN) – This is the final day of the 2024 Decatur County 4-H Fair.
There were several improvements made to the fairgrounds coming into this year’s event.
These include a cover over the cattle wash bay, and a new road to the track that keeps traffic away from horses and the animal shelter area.
Decatur County Commissioner Mark Koors says more improvements are in the pipeline, thanks to a $2 million READI 2.0 grant.
“We’ll have to match that with another $2 million so that all of those improvements can be made here at the fairgrounds over the next year or so,” Koors said.
County Commissioners disbanded the committee that organized and operated the event a few years ago, and commissioners along with a group of citizens have been taking care of the business associated with the fair.
County leaders decided last month to create a Fair Committee to oversee the week-long event’s operations starting next year.
Commissioners will continue to be responsible for improvements at the Decatur County Fairgrounds.
