(Greensburg, IN) – By a 5-2 margin, Decatur County Council has postponed a vote until January on the proposed food and beverage tax that would be used to fund construction of an aquatic center to replace Allen Memorial Pool.

The vote was put on hold to allow further information to be gathered.

The votes to postpone came from Ashley Emsweller Hungate, Bill Metz, Deanna Burkart Kenny Hooten, and Melanie Nobbe, while Ernie Gauck and Danny Peters cast the two votes against postponement.

The issue will be on county council’s January 16 agenda. That meeting is set for 6 pm in the Annex on South Ireland Street.
