(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Council held a public hearing this week on the special purpose jail tax.
After the hearing closed, council voted unanimously to lower it from 0.65 to 0.60. The move is expected to save county taxpayers an estimated $355- to 400-thousand next year.
The tax was implemented in 2018 to help fund construction of the current multi-million dollar Decatur County Detention Center.
