Debra Dianne (Elmore) Thomas, 71

Debra Dianne (Elmore) Thomas, 71, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Muncie, Indiana. She was born on December 15, 1954, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Edward Elmore, Jr. and Elsie (Hatfield) Elmore.
On October 3, 1970, Debra married the love of her life, Daniel Ray Thomas, Sr. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and devotion. Daniel preceded her in death.
Debra was a dedicated homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She later earned her GED. Debra spent countless hours on her artwork which she was very proud of. She had fond memories of playing board games and cooking for her family that she held close to her heart.
She is survived by her loving sons, Daniel Thomas, Jr. and Douglas (Christina) Thomas. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Grace (Nick) Marshall, Sarah Thomas, Noah Thomas and cherished her step-grandchildren, Joshua (Madison) Helle and Ashley Doyle. As well as her great granddaughter, Kinsley Doyle.
Debra is also survived by her siblings, Kathy, Holly, Judy, and Keith, along with many extended family members and friends who will remember her with love and affection.
In addition to her husband, Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Elmore, Jr. and Elsie (Hatfield) Elmore.
Debra will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her kind heart, and the quiet strength she demonstrated throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 starting at 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Vice will be officiating and the service will be available to view on Facebook Live. Burial will follow at Rossburg Cemetery.
