Deborah Lee (Meyer) Byrd

Mrs. Deborah Lee “Debbie” (Meyer) Byrd, age 71, of Versailles, Indiana, gained her wings at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 after a short but tough battle with cancer. Debbie was born on March 9, 1953 to the late John Lewis Meyer and Helen (Smith) Meyer in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended St. Bernard High School where she met her soulmate, Rexford “Darrell” Byrd. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage together before his passing on June 4, 2015. From that union, they had three daughters, Angela, Andrea and Alicia. Debbie was a homemaker who loved her pups and enjoyed paint by number games on her tablet. She loved coffee and playing cards with her loved ones.

Debbie will be missed by her daughters, Angela Byrd of Versailles, IN, Andrea (Tom) Anschutz and their children, Payton and Kirstyn Miller and Klayton and Christopher Anschutz of Vine Grove, KY and Alicia Watkins and her children, Braydon, Rylee and Ronni Watkins of Versailles, IN and her bonus son, John Hayes, Jr. of Bennington, IN; her best friends and cousins, Jane Wohn of Georgetown, KY and Russ and Sonya Stamm of Sunman, IN; her best friends since childhood, Terry and Connie Glass of Cape Coral, FL and Dennis and Kaye Durham of Cincinnati, OH and her abundant amount of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rexford “Darrell” Byrd; her parents, John Lewis and Helen (Smith) Meyer and her brothers, Jerome “Jerry” Meyer and John “Jack” Meyer.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” “She didn’t lose her battle with cancer, she gained her freedom with Christ.”

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, by Bro. Hobert Byrd, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Cemetery in Pleasant, Indiana.
