Dearborn Adult Center wins rehab grant

Lawrenceburg, In. — The city of Lawrenceburg has been awarded $360,000 to rehabilitate the Dearborn Adult Center by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant program.

Republican state representative Randy Lyness says, “The Dearborn Adult Center is an integral part of Dearborn County and Lawrenceburg. This project will be especially helpful to our area’s growing senior population, by providing additional enrichment, social and educational opportunities.”

Lyness adds that more than $15 million in federal grant funding was awarded to 31 rural communities through the program. Rural communities applied for these grants across five programs including blight clearance programs, main street revitalization programs, public facilities programs, stormwater improvement programs and wastewater drinking water programs.
