Deanna Lea Thornsberry, age 61 of Osgood, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at her home. Born May 28, 1965, in Beech Grove, Indiana, she is the daughter of Bill Hunter and Helen (Nee: Lawson) Upton. She married Marv J. Thornsberry on December 3, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Deanna was an Endoscopy Nurse for the Community Endoscopy Center on East 56th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, before being forced to take a medical retirement.
She enjoyed reading and watching the birds at her bird feeder. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and listening to her sons’ band. She attended many Journey concerts. Above all, she loved working as a nurse and coming home to her family at the end of each day.
She is survived by her husband Marv Thornsberry of Osgood; sons Hunter (Maggie) Thornsberry of Cincinnati, Ohio, Tanner (Miranda) Thornsberry of Morgantown, West Virginia and Connor (Fiancé Hayley Skrezyna) Thornsberry of Osgood; father Bill Hunter of Jamestown, Kentucky; sisters (twin) Debra Bernard and Christine Hunter, both of Jamestown, Amanda Upton of Indianapolis, Shane (John) Parker of Plainfield, Indiana, and Ginger (Rob) Biddinger of Indianapolis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister Cindy Butrum.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10th, from 9 – 11 a.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Ryan Schebler officiating. The burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery in Batesville.
