DCUF Names New Executive Director

(Greensburg, IN) – After an extensive three‑month search for the next leader of the Decatur County United Fund (DCUF), the Board of Directors has appointed Blaire Hornberger as the agency’s new Executive Director.

This transition marks a significant moment in the organization’s history.

Longtime Executive Director Joane Cunningham announced in December that she would be stepping down after 18 years of service.

“Her leadership, dedication, and vision have shaped DCUF in lasting ways, and the Board extends deep gratitude for her remarkable impact,” reads a statement from the DCUF Board.

Hornberger brings more than a decade of hands-on leadership as the owner of The Event Rental Gallery in Batesville, where she successfully managed all business operations, including financial planning, marketing strategy, team leadership, and customer engagement.

Over the course of her leadership, she led the design and execution of more than 600 events, and guided the business through the challenges of the COVID pandemic, emerging with sustained growth and stability.

She holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Marketing and Business Management from Indiana University Southeast, and her background includes extensive experience in integrated marketing communications, promotion, and community facing engagement which will support DCUF’s purpose of working for the greater good and creating meaningful moments in the lives of others.
