(Greensburg, IN) – The Decatur County United Fund is adding to its annual Day of Caring.
This year’s event is taking place on Wednesday, September 16.
For the first time, Day of Caring will include a community blood drive hosted by Centra Credit Union in partnership with the Decatur County Community Foundation and Versiti Blood Center of Indiana.
The blood drive will be held outside the United Fund and Community Foundation offices on Broadway Street in Greensburg.
United Fund executive director Blaire Hornberger says this gives residents and volunteers an additional way to make a meaningful impact.
By adding this new opportunity, Hornberger says Day of Caring will now double the ways the community can give back.
Blood donations will be taken between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day.

“We are grateful to Centra Credit Union and the Decatur County Community Foundation for their leadership and partnership in bringing this new initiative to Day of Caring,” Hornberger said. “A special thank you goes to Bailey Yeager of Centra Credit Union for envisioning this addition and helping us expand the ways our community can give back. Their commitment to growing service opportunities reflects the spirit of this event and the heart of our community.”
