(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital has a new Emergency Medical Services Manager.
Danny Marcum comes to DCMH from Shelby County, where he served for 32 years with the Shelbyville Fire Department.
While with that agency, he held such roles as deputy chief, firefighter/paramedic and training officer.
Marcum has also been involved with water rescue and other specialty public safety teams.
“As Danny contemplated his next step, his extensive experience in rural medicine inspired him to join a team that continues to impact this area,” hospital officials said. “He recognizes the greater responsibility placed on the DCMH team compared to larger urban settings and is thrilled to support their efforts.”
Marcum says working with DMCH’s hospital-based EMS differs greatly from a fire department-based service.
“I am excited to get to know and work the DCMH team. I’m also looking forward to partnering with other community services, organizations, and leaders,” Marcum said.
