David O. Cross, 81, of Milan passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. David was born on Monday, January 3, 1944, in Milan; son of Owen and Anna (Bushhorn) Cross. David married the love of his life, Mary (Voss) Cross, on July 21, 1968, and she survives him. David proudly served in the United States Navy. David worked for Seagrams for 34 years and for Chris Volz Motors for 17 years. He was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church, Seagrams local union, and the Milan American Legion Post #235. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of his lawn and loved going on vacations. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his children.
David will be missed by his wife, Mary Cross of Milan; son Donn (Julie) Cross of Pulaski, Tennessee; daughters Dana Cross and Megan Cross of Milan; sister-in-law Sharon Cross of Aurora; grandchildren Courtney (Casey) Cross, Zachary Ryan Christian (Amber) Cross, and Cody Cross; and great-grandchildren Tucker Nicholas Cross and Bo Cross.
David was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Anna Cross; son Ryan Cross; brother Earl Cross; sisters Dolores Benham, JoAnn Cole, Janet Cross, and Joyce Meyer; and stepfather Pete Johnson.
Family and friends may gather in remembering David from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Milan American Legion Post #235. Memorials may be given in honor of David to Milan First Baptist Church or Cravens Cemetery Association.
