David A. Siebert, 66, of Greensburg, Indiana, died at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on July 28, 2024, after a short illness.
Dave was born on December 24, 1957, to Walter A (Arnie) Siebert and Roberta J. (Bobbie) Green Siebert who preceded him in death on April 7, 2004 and September 11, 2011, respectively. He graduated from Batesville High School in 1976. He married Wanda Back on April 5, 1986; she survives. He worked for Hillenbrand Industries for 32 years and Honda for 10 years and retired in 2018.
He will be missed by daughters Jennifer Siebert (Grant Geis) of Millhousen, IN and Michelle Siebert of Tipton, IN. He was the best Pop Pop for grandsons, Vance and Calvin Geis. He is also survived by his brother Steven (Amy) Siebert of Batesville, IN and many dear nieces and nephews.
Dave grew up in Batesville, IN and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads, where he was baptized and confirmed.
He loved most things with four wheels, especially if it was a Chevrolet. His hobby was to build and restore older vehicles; he was gifted at body and paint work. After high school, he spent several years drag racing his Camaro called the “Neighborhood Complaint”. His most recent projects included a 1970 Chevelle and a 1950 Chevrolet truck. He helped many friends with projects of their own and even got his daughters to sand body panels occasionally. He enjoyed “figuring things out” and was quick to tackle a new project. Dave especially enjoyed making handmade toys for his grandsons and gifts for his great nieces and nephews. Dave and Wanda enjoyed traveling. Dave’s favorite trips were to Alaska and a three-week national park road trip. He also enjoyed the relaxation that camping provided.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with an 11:00am funeral service on Thursday, August 1, 2024 all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Laura Nicholson, SAM officiating.
