Daniel Maher (72) of Batesville, IN, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was born in Slater, MO, the seventh of nine sons of Vincent and Gabriella Maher.
A graduate of the University of Missouri in both computer programming and accounting, he was an astute businessman who coded the first Missouri computerized tax code. His acumen led him to conduct business in countless states and countries, including the Dominican Republic, where he met his wife. His family remembers him for his incredibly wide knowledge of the world, his wisdom as a confidant, his incredible taste in food, and as a ruthlessly competitive board gamer.
He is survived by his wife Alexandra, his children Michael (Liz) Maher, Gabriel (Catie) Maher, Ariel Williams, Margaret (Daniel) Wells, Jonathan (Alma) Diaz, Emir Diaz, Victoria Mendoza, and Liz (Clayton) Hanna, as well as 16 grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 11am to 1pm. A memorial service will follow at 1pm with Rev Stanley Pondo officiating, all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation or Margaret Mary Health Hansen Center by bringing to the services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
Please feel free to leave a memory or message for Daniel’s family in the online guestbook.
