Dale Stephen “Too Short” Herbert, age 68 of Osgood, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. The son of Vincent and Mary (Kirshbaum) Herbert was born on June 4, 1950 in Greensburg.
Dale retired in 2014 from Batesville Casket Company where he had worked for the past 44 years.
He was an avid sports fan of the Cincinnati Reds and UC Bearcats, but Dale was a big Bengals fan. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies like bowling, going fishing and doing some flea marketing. He always liked family get togethers and of course most of all, just being with his family.
He is survived by his wife Vicki (Moulton) Herbert; daughter, Martina Herbert of Osgood, and step daughter, April Wooten (David Fields) of North Vernon; step son, Estel Smith (Carol) of Franklin; sisters, Lydia Smith of New Point, Virginia Bedel of Batesville, and Donalene Holman of Greensburg; and brothers, Vincent Herbert of North Vernon, David Herbert of Milan along with many grandchildren and nieces and newphews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Francis Herbert.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 11am-1pm followed by 1pm funeral services all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mark Vice officiating. Burial will follow in the Rossburg Cemetery.
